President Trump said Monday in a tweet that his administration is willing to start the formal transition of power to Joe Biden, even while asserting that he still intends to ‘fight’ and ‘prevail’ in his legal challenges against the results of the presidential election.
‘I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused — and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.’
Trump’s willingness to back the General Services Administration in officially signing off on the transition is the closest he’s come yet to conceding the election to Biden and suggests faltering faith in his legal team’s ability to prove that massive voter fraud stole the election. Emily Murphy, the GSA administrator, claimed she made the decision to start the transition process independently of the White House.
‘Because of recent developments involving legal challenges and certifications of election results, I have determined that you may access the post-election resources and services,’ Murphy wrote in a letter to Biden on Monday evening.
Georgia certified its election results last Friday, Michigan followed suit on Monday, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that mail-in ballots could be counted even if voters did not fully fill out the envelope, narrowing the available remaining court challenges from the President’s legal team. The series of blows comes in conjunction with the Trump legal team distancing itself from Michael Flynn lawyer Sidney Powell after she accused Georgia governor Brian Kemp of being paid off to help steal the election from Trump.

‘Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump legal team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,’ Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis wrote in an official statement.
A source told Breitbart that the legal team felt they could no longer work with Powell because her public statements had gone beyond the scope of evidence that they had seen.
So is Trump planning on giving up? The President’s insistence that starting the transition to the Biden administration will be in the ‘best interest of the country’ certainly makes it sound that way. But a tweet he sent at just past 11 p.m. ET seems to indicate that he’s not done fighting just yet: ‘What does GSA being allowed to preliminarily work with the Dems have to do with continuing to pursue our various cases on what will go down as the most corrupt election in American political history? We are moving full speed ahead. Will never concede to fake ballots & “Dominion”.’
